Home Maintenance, Inspection & Repairs including How to Navigate Homeowners Insurance
May 15 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

In this four part series, students will learn the ins and outs of inspecting and maintaining your home and understanding homeowners insurance and claims.
PART 1 – Inspections and Maintenance – The first two classes will lay the groundwork for understanding the basics of inspecting and maintaining your home. We will start with the exterior: when to inspect, what to look for, and why it is important.
PART 2 – Continuation of home inspections and maintenance, primarily for the interior of your home. This includes understanding possible environmental hazards like mold, asbestos, lead, and radon.
PART 3 – Understand Homeowners Insurance Policies – We will walk through the different sections of a homeowners insurance policy. What to look for, what the terminology means, and how to save money!
PART 4 – Repairs and Insurance Claims — What do you do when you notice issues during your routine maintenance. When should you call a contractor? Who should you call? How do you screen or know they will do a good job? Additionally, we will talk about larger scale repairs and issues that may involve filing an insurance claim.
The cost for this event (total for all 4 parts) is $39
