The Empowered Homeowner: Understanding & Maintaining the Exterior of Your Home

November 14 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

PART I – Exterior Construction Repairs, Restoration, and Water Mitigation – Understanding the anatomy of house’s exterior, common maintenance issues and how to minimize costs

The Empowered Homeowner is a 2-part educational workshop aimed at helping homeowners understand the exterior of the home, maintenance issues that commonly arise, how to read and understand the coverage provided by your homeowners insurance policy, and finally, how to handle unexpected damage from weather events. The workshops will feature flow charts and diagrams, handouts of terms, photos, and each session will feature a checklist of questions to take home.

Owning your own home can be a lot to bite off for many people, and while this hour long workshop certainly only touches the tip of the iceberg, we hope to outline some of the most common areas of wear and tear to the exterior of your home that can prevent (or minimize) larger damage issues that are either excluded or not covered by homeowners insurance. We also will discuss some of the areas (with photos) where we see homeowners think that there has been weather/storm related damage but the damage is actually the result of other issues (maintenance, improper installation, product warranty).

The workshop is designed for 90 min of content and 30 min reserved at the end for questions and answers.

Cost for this 2 part series (Novemeber 14 & 21) is $30
