This is a series of educational workshops aimed at empowering homeowners throughout their home insurance, maintenance, claims, and repair process/es. Each of these workshops is designed to be a stand alone module, and as a whole try to represent the insurance policy, maintenance, and claim cycle. You do not need to attend all three classes but it is designed as a before (you purchase), during (while owning your home), and after (an unexpected event) series.

Before You Buy: Understanding Your Homeowners Insurance Policy – Purchasing a Homeowner’s insurance policy to protect your home in case of unexpected events typically goes hand in hand with the purchase of a home. What doesn’t always accompany these purchases is an understanding of how your homeowner’s insurance works including what is or isn’t covered, what affects the price of your policy and what will happen if you have an unexpected event leading to a claim. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of insurance coverage and leave with some sample policy language (regardless of your carrier), as well as a list of questions to take back to your agent so that you can make more informed decisions that align with your priorities for your home, budget and lifestyle.
